The Managing Your World online courses use applied learning principles to address 25 areas of stress that are most commonly faced by those recovering from addiction. This practical, self-directed approach allows learners to follow student-centered lessons that include direct application of skills to real-world situations relevant to ongoing recovery from addiction.
About the Courses
Managing Your World is designed to serve as a self-care companion to individual and group supports that are essential to recovery. The lessons are organized around the larger themes of managing self and managing relationships. The lessons contained in each course include personal stories relevant to recovery, along with activities, reflective thinking, supportive video and expanded individual workbook. Also incorporated with purchase of the Managing Your World online course is a chat forum and facilitated small group. Managing Your World is available via an annual subscription
The Managing Your World Online Courses or separate Individual Workbook can be used alone or in a small group setting. They both are ideal tools to support recovery from addiction.

Each lesson in Managing Your World begins with a personal story and is followed by activities, reflection and supportive video, all related to that lesson’s stress subject. In addition, you can participate in the chat forum and learn how others are handling similar life challenges. Plus, you can enroll in a facilitated small group and have a cohort of peers whom you can encourage and be encouraged by as you move through your recovery steps.
Students can navigate the courses and individual lessons in the order that best suits their interests and current real-world challenges. For example, start with the Managing My Self course and step right into "Identifying Personal Triggers" if you are feeling particularly challenged to maintain your sobriety. Or, start with Managing My Relationships and jump right to "Grieving, Addiction and Letting Go" if your current challenges have to do with significant loss.
As learners will discover, the unique design of Managing Your World allows learners to focus in on those topics that are most relevant to their current experience. The learning can be sequential or dynamic and self-directed by the learner. And the self-directed, online courses can be studied at times and locations most convenient to the user.
The length of time to complete each lesson can vary from 20-40 minutes, depending on each learner's learning style. The Managing My Self course is estimated to take about 10-12 hours to complete, while Managing My Relationships will take somewhat longer, estimated at 12-16 hours to complete.
